Handles the dispensing of Trail Grants to MHC member trail organizations for trail improvements and maintenance on existing, or new,
equestrian trails in Michigan.
Partners with, other trails and greenway organizations, including Michigan Mountain Bike Association, Rails to Trails Conservancy
(and local rail-trails support groups in Michigan), Michigan United Conservation Clubs, and many other local organizations and groups
to advance common goals and interests.
Provides trail information on Michigan equestrian trails, with plans to include equestrian trail locations and information on the MHC web site.
Tracks regional and national trail seminars and programs, sending delegates to these whenever possible.
Works with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Forest Service on trail issues, trail programs and trail development,
and serves as resource for government on trail issues affecting equestrians.
Educates the equestrian community on trail issues and mounts grass roots campaigns in support of equestrian trails.
Provides a forum for sharing trail problems and successes for Michigan trail Riders.
